One killed in Dharan knife attack
Dharan. A youth was killed in a knife attack following a minor dispute at Suryamarga near the Phusre Army Camp in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City ward no. 13 in Sunsari on Monday night.
According to Area Police Office, Dharan DSP Rameshwor Poudel, the deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar Rai, aged 27-year-old of Shikhar Tole in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City ward no.1. Another youth, Subarna Rai of Dharan-13 was injured during the incident and is receiving medical treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
The deceased Amit Rai sustained knife injury in his abdomen, was rushed immediately to BPKIHS where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment, informed BPKIHS police post.
The police on Tuesday arrested six individuals in connection with the murder. Santosh Limbu, Pushkar Rai, Ashish Majhi, Sanotsh Rai, Koksin Rai and Kul Bahadur Sunuwar of Dharan submetropolis ward no. 13 have been arrested and will be charged with murder, as informed by Dharan police. According to the police, Pushkar Rai is a known drugs-dealer at Dharan area.
The police suspect that a small dispute between the deceased Amit Rai and one of the arrestees Santosh Limbu was the main reason behind the murder.
